A native Texan, Clark Hellier moved to Arlington in 1960 at age two. Upon graduation from Arlington High School, he did his geology undergraduate work at Texas A&M and his geology graduate work at UTA. This led to a 43-year career as an exploration geologist and manager.

In his first career half, Clark explored for on- and off-shore oil and both domestically and internationally (North Sea, South America, Kazakhstan). During the second half, he managed over six million acres of minerals in 38 states for Providence Energy. In 2024, Clark retired as VP of Asset Management and Exploration.

Clark met the love of his life, Beth, at A&M and married her less than a month after she graduated. They have been happily married for over 45 years and have two awesome sons and daughters in-law!

Clark’s volunteer activities included coaching his sons in Little League from tee-ball to juniors and being the Usher Captain of his church for over 20 years. As an Eagle Scout, he has enjoyed giving back to scouting by serving as the Cubmaster of a Cub Scout pack, assisting with his sons’ Boy Scout troop and currently serving as the Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 517, the only special needs troop in North Texas.

Clark has been a Rangers season ticket holder for over 30 years. He is still euphoric that they finally won the World Series.
